Remember when indie meant simply independant? it was rarely used in the 90's and was a term found mostly in filmy millieus. Now The term Indie and indie music is used for anything.. 

Let's explore all the different definitions of Indie for a minute:

INDIE DEFFINITION 1 a short form for the actual word independent.  Rarely used this way.

INDIE DEFFINITION 2 A term for a low budget movie. "It was an indie budget"

INDIE DEFFINITION 3 A term for a fashion style with tight rolled, worn jeans "Indie look"

INDIE DEFFINITION 4 A term that keeps getting re-coined every few months!

INDIE DEFFINITION 6 A term for rock, pop, Alternative, Industrial or glam music

INDIE DEFFINITION 7 A term for "do it yourself" meaning bands against funding

INDIE DEFFINITION 8 A term for products handmade "indie produced"

INDIE DEFFINITION 9 A term that mean no child labour and implies "green"

INDIE DEFFINITION 10 A term for a small  bar with cheap drinks and shit furniture
